1. Upon creating an application - please fill out all parts included in the application. Do not leave anything blank, as blank applications will not be processed.
2. Try to keep your characters fairly realistic. Yes, they are talking cats. No, they will not be lime green, able to glow in the dark and fly. Keep it realistic. Google is your friend!
3. The only cats allowed are DOMESTIC cats. However, with special permission you CAN apply to have some wildcat blood. In that case, the only other cats you can pick from are Bobcat and Canadian Lynx.
4. You may not sign up with a character who is not a cat.
5. While there are some magical elements incorporated into the backgrounds of the clans and in the roleplay itself, no cat is allowed to have superpowers or magical abilities. You can purchase these later on, but only through staff permission.
6. Cats cannot speak with other species such as prey, twolegs or dogs.
7. Gay, Spayed, Neutered, Transgender and Intersexed cats are perfectly acceptable. Intersex cats are unable to impregnate themselves.
8. Initially, positions such as Leader and Deputy will be allowed to apply for. However, after the first leader/deputy spot has been claimed, these positions must be roleplayed for, and therefore earned.
9. You are unable to apply and start as a kit. Only Apprentice or higher cats are allowed to be a starting point for a original character. Kits will only be obtained through birth on-site.
10. No Mary/Gary Sues. This means no perfect characters. Everybody has something wrong with them.
11. No horribly bloody, mutilated backstories. Not everyone's going to be 'The Crow'. If this is something that is going to happen I would rather see you put an effort into trying to roleplay the tragic event than it just being a footnote in your biography. This is to say that you can't have dead family members in your history; they just can't have been eviscerated by twolegs and set on fire...
12. If you wish to find family for your Original Character, please seek out other members in the Family Boards.
13. Your application MUST be accepted before Roleplaying.
14. If you leave the Roleplay without giving notice in the Vacations sections, your character will be placed in Starclan after 14 Real-time days (Two Weeks). If you then return with that character, others may act as if you abandoned them. This includes leaders, etc.
I do not claim to be a scientist, but there are certain things that should be known in the cat world.
--- Cats with White fur and Blue eyes are usually deaf. If you wish to have a blue eyed white cat with perfect hearing you MUST ask for Staff Permission.
--- Calico cats have two x chromosomes and therefore are primarily female. Males can still be calico, but they will be sterile unless you ask for Staff Permission.
--- Certain generic cat types are available to play - such as Munchkins, Scottish Folds, Devon Rex's, Sphinxes - Etc. However, please be warned that these cats may have unforeseen health defects that may be passed on genetically.
We all get it - every one in a while, things happens. Cats in the wild will get seriously injured, suffer falls and illness, that will leave them near death or at a serious disadvantage. For the sake of sanity in the roleplay, the follow will occur.
--- General scrapes and abrasions, and injuries such as missing fur, nicked ears, can be permanent - but will not hinder the cat in the long run.
--- Cat's with serious neurological or physiological injuries - full or partial blindness, paralysis, missing limbs, generally speaking have two preferred options.
A) Retire and become an Elder
B) Join forces with the Medicine Cats
Yes, there are some characters in the book who fight with missing limbs, eyesight, etc. But let's be honest; your blind white cat's not gonna last long in the forest... Half blindness or missing limbs, can be worked around as far as wanting to see if they can continue as warriors - but you must prove yourself to be superior roleplayers.
--- Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will issues of mental health be talked about or discussed on board. Your cat can be sad, not depressed. They can be crazy or mean, not schizophrenic. They can be vicious, vindictive, evil - it just cannot be based on any mental defect. Personality over mentality.
